Short Bio
Souzana been involved in the study and performance of Greek traditional music on violin for more than twenty years, with first lessons at seminars in northern California (Balkan Music and Dance Workshops) and performances on the north California coast. I continued study/performance in Greece, beginning in 1993, where she has lived for a total of almost 12 years. Her focus has been on repertoire from the Greek islands and from Asia Minor, though she plays music from Thrace, Macedonia, and Panhellenic pieces as well. She performed Greek traditional music with others at a festival in eastern Turkey (Arguvan, Malatya) during July of 2010 and perform periodically in Aegina and Athens with Greek musicians.
