The municipal district of Vathi is made up of several villages whose names have never been heard by this author, with the exception of Vathi itself, Souvala (second largest port of Aegina) and Agii (Αgιοί). The other "villages" are called Kokkalaki, Boriatado, Therma. Except for Souvala, this area ranges from rural to semi-rural. The actual village of Vathi (again, with very ambiguous boundaries), sits high up on the hills above the sea, and is increasingly forested (pines) as one travels eastward towards Agi. There's a school in Vathi, and a church, but not too much more, other than houses, though as one descends the long, steep hill towards Souvala, there are some commercial establishments along the main road.
