	Summer has started, the temperature is over 30 degrees and it's fantastic to start swimming again. All the beaches around Aegina are full with sunbeds and umbrellas. In this newsletter, the latest about the beach in Marathonas, the harbour of Aghia Marina, internet on Aegina, information for anybody who is thinking about moving to Aegina island, we introduce you to the Aegina Women's Group and provide you with more info about the coming Aegina Eco week.

Since the beginning of this year there is an ADSL connection on the island. At this moment this high speed connection is only available in Aegina town, Faros and Marathonas. It's been expected that at the end of this year it's possible to provide the whole island with ADSL. Until then, you have to live with an ISDN or normal analogue connection. For island visitors who need to connect their laptop with a fast connection, go to the shop of Microtech at the end of Afeas Street.

Marathonas has two of the most populair beaches on the island. This season, some new shops have opened. Christian and Stella who were running The Captain Cool in Aghia Marina for years, have now moved to Marathonas beach, they have opened "Ammos" which used to be Paris taverna. They have totally redesigned the place and they are welcoming you. Next to "Ammos" the new coffee place "La Palma" has been opened. Other recommended places: "Tasos" and "Ostria".

In the week of 9 - 17 JUNE, Aegina's second Eco week will be held. The Eco week is an initiative of the architect Elias Messinas. The goal of this event is to inform and “educate” people on the island, to guide them in adopting some simple daily habits, different, perhaps from what they are used to, which can affect their daily life in a positive way. The Aegina Women's Group is an English-speaking group of women who live in Aegina and who meet to communicate, support and encourage eachother as well as to coordinate the sharing of talents and skills. There are many nationalities; the common thread of all is the English language. There is no membership fee, no formal structure and no executive, just an ad-hoc committee doing minimal organizing.
