A very traditional “meze” Taverna, Ippocampos (= sea horse) was established in 1989 by the Drossos Family. They offer traditional cooking with a personal touch and twist! Unique dishes are featured on the menu, some of which cannot be found anywhere else in Greece, others that are found in just one or two special places and of course there is a selection of the more established Greek favorites such as Fava, Tzatziki, Greek Salad, Souvlakis etc. But don’t expect the usual!

Unlike other Tavernas, where you go inside the kitchen to see the dishes on offer, at Ippocampos the full range of the menu is brought to you – on a large tray carried directly to your table!!! Each night the selection may be slightly different, as “best in the market” fresh ingredients are used depending on the season. Whatever looks best when Petros is out shopping in the morning appears cooked to perfection on your table, that evening! Each choice is presented and described and you choose whatever tickles your tastebuds!

We recommend EVERYTHING! Try the amazing baked potato stuffed with creamy seafood, it is a crime to miss the special calamari/prawn special rice combination; it has been said that the delectable stuffed mussels served here are the best in the world! Along with the seafood selection, there is also a range of meat dishes – succulent pork, chicken as well as some tasty vegetarian dished and salads. All at ‘excellent value for money’ prices. Choose from ice-cold beers, soft drinks and excellent barrel wine to accompany your feast!
